Surprising Risk Factors for Skin Cancer

Know the Risks for Skin Cancer (More than just tanning and sunburns)



Ask most people what the risk factors for skin cancer are and you'll get one or two answers - sunburns and tanning booths. As a woman with a skin cancer history, the only medical advice I received was a reminder to wear sunscreen and a hat. I was surprised to learn that there are more risk factors for melanoma skin cancer, including a red hair, a weakened immune system, a history of basal cell carcinoma and Parkinson's disease.
