Giving a Medal to a Future Marine 

at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot


As a part of my duties as a member of the San Diego Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, I get to present medals to students in JROTC, ROTC and NJROTC in San Diego.

I spent the morning at a ceremony for the USNSCC Coronado Batallion and got to present one of the Cadets with a medal honoring his efforts as a Naval Sea Cadet. This young man announced he would be enlisting in the Marine Corps this summer.


San Diego is home to both the Marine Corps Recruit Depot and the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, made famous in the classic movie Top Gun.
