Book Review: Aromatherapy for Beginners

Book Review: Aromatherapy for Beginners

by Kathleen Lisson

Disclaimer: I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher but was not paid for this review.

Aromatherapy for Beginners is an artfully arranged book, complete with recipes for essential oil solutions sprays, creams etc. that will help with self-care and household cleanliness.

One thing I love about author Anne Kennedy is she understands that people new to essential oils want to know many uses for the oils they DO have. Kennedy’s recipes focus on her Top 15 essential oils and allow readers to use the oils they have in many different ways. The recipes are easy enough that they could be a fun project for a few friends or a mother and daughter to whip up together as unique homemade gifts for friends and loved ones.

This beautiful guide is the perfect reference and inspiration book for anyone who is new to aromatherapy and wants a solid introduction into how to use essential oils safely in their home.

Weekend Wisdom -

What I'm reading this Week on Health and Wellness

Rick Hanson's Just One Thing newsletter (sign up for free here) focused on the power of words. More importantly, can we discard what we think about OURSELVES if it doesn't follow these rules?

Laughter can boost the immune system. (Trumpet)

Warning to night owls: your bedtime can affect your perceived ability to control obsessive thoughts and compulsive behavior the next day. (PsychCentral)

Researchers have found there is some overlap between "genes linked to insomnia and the genes linked to other mental health conditions, such as anxiety, depression and neuroticism" (LiveScience)
