Meditation, mindfulness, visualization and the relaxation response have been increasingly accepted in recent years as powerful stress-reduction tools.


In the Holistic Nursing Practice (2000) article ‘Relaxation training as a holistic nursing intervention,’ Jan DeMarco-Sinatra, Coordinator of the New England Heart and Longevity Center in Manchester, Connecticut, shares information on the positive effects of relaxation training and provides details on four techniques for inducing the relaxation response.


A Wall Street Journal article titled ‘Can Meditation Help Pain After Surgery?’ covers Mt. Sinai hospital’s efforts to reduce post-surgical pain with meditation.


California Pacific Medical Center / Sutter Health and The Institute for Health and Healing offers a free guided meditation for their patients to use
